DIY Girl's Sweater: The Bimaa

I found another favorite pattern, the Bimaa!  I adore how easily the sweater sews up and how cute it is on PiePie.

I chose to do the cowl neck version for this one.

I used a really soft, thin knit that I got from Joann's to make this.  I love the striped flower detail.  It isn't quite as stretchy as the pattern suggests using for this sweater, but it still worked out.

I'm really in love with the cowl collar.  I need to make one for myself!

Pattern Details & Review:
As mentioned above, the pattern I used to make this is the Bimaa Sweater by Lou Bee Clothing.  It comes in sizes 12m-6 and has 3 different collar finishes: shawl, cowl and hood.  I'd consider this pattern to be great for a beginner seamstress learning to sew with knits.  Knits can be tricky, but this pattern is simple enough that it'd be hard to screw up.

One thing to note regarding the sizing for this pattern:  It is a very slim fitted sweater, so if you are worried about it being too tight, I'd suggest using the next size up for width and adjusting the length as needed.

This truly is a favorite pattern of mine and I envision making many more in the future using the different collar options.  I might even try making it in 3/4 or short sleeve.
