DIY Girl's Sweater: The Bimaa (again!)

It's another Bimaa sweater!

For this one I used a super stretchy sweater knit and chose the shawl style collar.

Originally I intended to use the pink striped fabric throughout, but didn't have quite enough since I had just purchased it as a remnant from the fabric store.

So, I decided to upcycle one of my old sweaters to use as the collar.  I really like how it turned out.

Pattern Details & Review:

As I mentioned in my previous post, I used the Bimaa Sweater pattern by Lou Bee Clothing

It comes in sizes 12m-6 and has 3 different collar finishes: shawl, cowl and hood.  I'd consider this pattern to be great for a beginner seamstress learning to sew with knits.  Knits can be tricky, but this pattern is simple enough that it'd be hard to screw up.

One thing to note regarding the sizing for this pattern:  It is a very slim fitted sweater, so if you are worried about it being too tight, I'd suggest using the next size up for width and adjusting the length as needed.

This truly is a favorite pattern of mine and I envision making many more in the future using the different collar options.  I might even try making it in 3/4 or short sleeve.
