I'm sewing along with Project Run & Play again this week!

This week is the Spring Break Challenge and the task was to create a look for your child to wear to your favorite vacation spot.

When I think of vacation, the first thing that pops into mind is the beach!  I've only been to a real beach (like the kind with an ocean) one time in my life.  I guess that's what happens when you grow up in Kansas.

Miss Rue has never been to the beach, but we've got a vacation planned to Florida in July for my sister's wedding!  Woohoo!

I have to admit, I almost didn't enter my look into the sew along for this week because I didn't make the entire outfit, I only made the shorts.  I had grand plans to make the shirt to go along with the shorts, but alas, life got in the way and I didn't have time.

So, let's talk about the shorts.

I used the Addie Spring Shorts pattern by My Little Plumcake.  This is a great pattern and I highly recommend it!

This is actually the second pair I've made for Miss Rue.  I wrote about her other pair here.

The shorts feature real pockets and front pleats which I love.

I used coordinating thread for the top-stitching for some added interest.

And now... it's time for photo overload.  Hope you enjoy!
