Today I'm linking my latest sewing project to Project Run & Play!

This week's theme is "Put Me In the Zoo". The goal was to make a look inspired by your child's favorite animal, not to actually make an animal costume.

I have to admit, I was a bit stumped on what to make initially.

PiePie's favorite animal is a tiger, so I knew it had to be tiger themed.

After a few days of thinking about what to make, I found this fabric and the creative juices started flowing.

Looks like a tiger, right?

Well, it's technically zebra striped, but we're going to go ahead and call it tiger striped.

I loved the fabric the moment I saw it, but it was a major pain to work with.  Those little golden dots melt away at the slightest touch of the iron (hence the wrinkles).

So, without further ado, here is my look:

Looks pretty zoo-like, eh?

The leggings are adorably wild and perfect for the zoo.  They look a bit tiger-like to me too.

I used the Jocelyn Legging's pattern by EYMM to make these.

The shirt was made using the Rain's Flutter Top pattern by EYMM.

Last, but not least, I made an infinity scarf using the Strawberry Bonbon Infinity Scarf pattern by Candy Castle Patterns.

The elephant print fits right in, right?

  5. We went pink this week too for a flamingo dress. Nice work on sticking with a difficult to work with fabric!
